Since May 2009, NQ Exploration Inc. has held a 100% interest in the Opawica property in Lesperance Township, 80 km southwest of Chapais, in the territory covered by the James Bay agreement. This property consists of 24 contiguous claims covering a total area of 384 hectares. The interests of Kinross Gold Corporation and Inmet Mining Corporation were acquired in consideration of a 1% royalty, half of which can be bought back for US $750,000.

Extensive exploration was carried out on the property in the past, including the drilling of 41 holes (see surface geology map). This work identified a gold-bearing zone about 350 metres long in the centre of the claims, extending to a depth of 100 to 200 metres. The mineralized zone is spatially associated with porphyry-type dikes within a gold-anomalous envelope over 40 metres wide.

The following table shows some of the best assay results of previous drilling:

The property lies within a major regional NE-SW deformation corridor that hosts a number of gold showings and two former producers, the Lac Shortt mine, three kilometre to the north, and the Bachelor Lake mine, 20 kilometres to the west. Metanor Resources Inc. is presently reactivating the Bachelor Lake mine, whose mill is already in operation. No mineral resource has been estimated for the Opawica property; no drilling has been done on the property since 1983.

The Opawica property has strong gold potential at depth, as well as untested high-grade-low-tonnage potential on surface. The geological setting, alteration and type of mineralization suggest a porphyry environment similar to that of the Timmins mining camp.

The next steps include compilation of all the data, field visits and mapping focused on understanding the gold-bearing structures, as well as targeted sampling aimed at generating a new, modern metallogenetic model to be used as a basis for drilling.
